As a general FYI:
We are a specialist's office, not a walk-in clinic. All patients require a referral from their family doctor / walk-in clinic to be seen by one of our ENTs.
We require at least 48-business hours to reschedule or cancel appointments. Shorter notice will result in a $100 fee for first-time appointments and $50 for follow-ups. (This may change at any moment without notice.)
No-show fees are $100 fee for first-time appointments and $50 for follow-ups. (This may change at any moment without notice.)
Consults are covered by MSP. We are not a private clinic.
My doctor referred me to your clinic, how long will it take to get an appointment?
The wait for non-urgent appointments is about 6-10 months. Urgent appointments are booked accordingly. (This may change at any moment without notice.)
Can I have a sooner appointment?
We only have a waitlist for patients that already have booked appointments. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT THE OFFICE IF YOU ARE STILL PENDING AN APPOINTMENT. This will only slow down our process.
If you already have an appointment scheduled with us, you may request to be added to our cancellation list by leaving a voicemail or sending us an email. Make sure to add our phone number to your contacts because we will only call once when filling spots and move on to the next person on the list.
How can I confirm my appointment?
There are three ways to confirm your appointments. Please only do ONE:
About 2 weeks before the appointment, you will receive an SMS or email, depending on the selected form of contact. Follow the instructions! If SMS, reply directly to said SMS message with the 4-digit code you receive.
Send us an email to vancityent@gmail.com
Subject: Confirmed
Make sure to include your full name, phone number, and date of appointment.
You will NOT receive a reply. You are confirmed.
Leave a voicemail on our phone 604-757-1831.
Make sure to give us your full name and date of appointment.
You will NOT hear back from us. You are confirmed.
ALL APPOINTMENTS MUST BE CONFIRMED 1 WEEK PRIOR. Appointments that have not been confirmed are automatically cancelled.
I did not receive a reminder message or email. Am I still confirmed for my appointment?
Contact our office via email:
Make sure we have your correct contact information: phone (tell us if it is a cellphone or landline) and email address.
If you did not have cell reception around the time the reminder SMS was sent, it is possible you did not get it. You may let us know if you wish to change the preferred way of contact be your email.
I got a message saying that my appointment was cancelled! Can I still come to my appointment?
The sooner you get in contact with us, the easier it will be for us to reinstate your appointment or find you an alternative.
We will not be able to fit you in if you walk in to a cancelled appointment.
I emailed your office, but have not gotten a reply. How long should I wait?
Please know that this is a high-volume clinic. It may take around 48-business hours for us to respond to inquiries that do not require the Drs.' attention, and longer if it does.
I got a booking delay notice asking for a hearing test, but my hearing is fine. Do I need this?
Yes! All ear-related referrals require a complete hearing test. These not only measure your hearing, but also let the doctors know how your middle and inner ear are functioning. You can get them done at any hearing clinic (or Costco, if you have a membership). Make sure it's a complete audiology and not a screening test.
